Heres one of my favorite research sited on Ruskie electrics.

Where the hell is Bulgary? :)

None of the Nuevo Flamenco guitarists I listen to play weirdo guitars.
And they can really play.

Nobody of any real importance plays weirdo guitars. "Importance" is
defined
as "Will anyone remember them in a few years?"

You mean like Bo Diddley?

Or maybe you meant The Ventures...

The Ventures were technically perfect, but they didn't have soul.

They are, however, important and not forgotten. Whether they had
"soul' or not is completely subjective.

They did what they did really well. And now, the "surf music" genre is
officially back, at least according to people who need to categorize music.

A group I enjoyed in my youth, called The Astronauts, apparently are
still alive and kicking in some sort of fashion. Ever hear of them?

I got a kick out of the name of the band listed just above "The Astronauts".

Hmmmm......I wonder if they understand the name they chose. There's a
Chinese restaurant here called "House of Poon". What heartless thing at the
county clerk's office didn't give them a heads up when they registered the
name?

In short, their pick of guitars has nothing to do with their ability
or lack of.

he pretty much invented it.- Hide quoted text -

Have you ever heard of Junior Brown? He's a Julliard trained musician
who found he had a great voice for old style country music, and is one
hell of a guitar player. He wanted to play both lead and steel, so he
invented his own:

That guy is a rocket!

I'm amazed that on a couple songs he will take the low E string and
tune it down to B, back and forth to C,D etc, and play a hard hitting
melody on just that one string...
