We are setting up a Linux box right now for a friend, will probably use rsync with a cron to back up our linux stuff, and one of our frineds windows based hosting servers... You can use rsync to back up Windows. You just need to use Cygwin. http://www.gaztronics.net/rsync.php Yes, I certainly want to do this: use chroot = false strict modes = false [modulename] path = /cygdrive/c/cygwin/var/rsync_dump comment = Rsync storage area read only = false Instead of "Backup HK PC" I don't think we are talking about the same thing. rsync will mirror multiple clients to a server. Set it up once, run it as a cron job, and forget about it. Gee, that's pretty much like any other backup software. Windows Home Server, btw, is a very interesting product. rsync doesn't require you bend over at the alter of Bill and give him a couple of hundred dollars. I thought you were the unbridled capitalist. Capitalists know when to spend money and when not to spend money. |
