These are very sturdy, minimal maintenance boats for fishermen. Pacific extended their Pilot House I think just this year. I like the Pacific boats. One of my friends has one - beautiful and well constructed. He had his powder coated before installing the interior - gorgeous. I'll look and see if I can find my pictures. I've wondered from time to time how powdercoating holds up on boat surfaces subject to abrasion. I know I've seen a couple of powdercoated tee-tops that begin to look a little weary after a couple of years of being banged into and scratched by gear, fishing rods, et cetera. Sure looks good when new though. It's held up really well. His brother owns a plasma coating place over in Putnam and when he bought the boat, he had the hull shipped, then cleaned the exterior with some kind of special wash agent, then had it coated. Up close and personal, it's got a few scratches and dings, then again, it's eight years old - most eight year old boats have little scratches and scuffs. Pacific boats have been something that I've considered over the past couple of years. I like them a lot - well built and rugged. |
