I had somebody tell me one time that the advantage of tabs was that she
could open as many as 14 tabs at once and flip back and forth.

What's even better than tabs, is Virtual Desktops. Great for keeping
your different tasks organized. Windows has a half-ass implementation
with PowerToy.
