MS tends to open up holes, not close them. HTML is just one example. Oh, and a simple set of file permissions would go a long way to protecting your computer. Unix had them way back in the '70s. Microsoft is finally seeing the light, 30 years later. Basic security based on what? The known threats on the day the software was shipped? That would be as useless as a rubber crutch. What about software that does NOT connect to the internet? It can still be a vector for infection if the files it's opening are infected. |
