We had a friend and neighbor back in the north eastern 'burbs who
fancied himself to be a bit of a squirrel sniper under the rationale
of defending his garden. He was nearing 100 certified kills when a
another neighbor saw what appeared to be the barrel of a gun peeping
out of his attic window. Not amused, she called the police who were
likewise not amused. It turns out that they consider an air rifle to
be a "firearm" under the town laws and pointed out that it was a
possible felony to "discharge" one within the city limits.

Apparently Dumb Dan doesn't know what a black rifle is.
One of the URLs in that reference post showed a black rifle.

The URL in question led to this:

http://tinyurl.com/35l4df

Now, I didn't look closely at the photo, but it sure looked like an
assault or assault-looking rifle of 1960s to current manufacture, one of
the "ARs" or a facsimile of one.

They are referred to as black rifles. I'll leave it to the junior
googlers to figure out why.

A Colt 1911 is an assault weapon.

A Remington Model 1200 is and assault weapon.

Hell, a Ka-Bar is an assault weapon.

A toenail clipper is an assault weapon.

A Swiss Army knife is an assulat weapon.

Anything a soldier or Marine caries into battle can be classified as an

They may be referred to as 'black rifles' by those who've never trained
with or used one. Until now, I'd never heard that description. Of course,
most of those I've been around who discuss it had some military background.

Black rifles are for pussies.
Did you mean to say "black powder", expert?

OK, "Boss DS 1" there...

They may be referred to as 'black rifles' by those who've never trained
with or used one. Until now, I'd never heard that description. Of course,
most of those I've been around who discuss it had some military background.

Gimmmeeeee!!!

And before any of you audiophiles get your feathers up, I have only
been playing for about two years so yes, everything new sounds cool to
me.. And I just like to play around in my office anyway.

I've used an older ME-8 at home for quite a few years. It's
not bad in moderation but the presets are kinda cheesy. I'm
giving it to a friend since replacing it with a Line-6 X3.
Same complaint with that though, most of the presets are
over-done and tweeking is required.
