It just seems that way. With the globalization of communication
technology, we have access to everything going on. 100 years ago, just a
scooch of the 2007 mortality list would be disseminated and common
knowledge.

Yep,

I had a close friend of 26 years pass a couple weeks ago.
He was the older brother I never had. A musician buddy.
He served on the USS Tinosa prior to our meeting.
We're all still in shock over his passing. He was 47.
