After that last ramble, I'd say at least a 3/4 ton P/U, (4wd for some
ramps) either gas or diesel.
I watched a guy ramp a 30+ footer on the ramp I use, with a 3/4 ton
4WD Suburban in low, and he almost slid the truck in the drink.
