About a year and a half ago I ordered a handmade model of Mrs.E's GB. It
has taken a little longer to be built due to circumstances beyond control
of the model builder. I got an email notice today that it is just about
complete and he sent a couple of pictures. It was worth waiting for, I
think.

He told me that the base in the picture is temporary. The one being
shipped with the model was in the drying oven when he snapped the
pictures.

I forget how long it is exactly, but it's something like 2.5-3 feet or
thereabouts.

Just in time for Christmas for Mrs.E.

Very nice. Scratch built, I presume?

Yes, although he's done quite a few over the years. They are fiberglass,
done in molds that he designed and he hand makes all the metal and wood
details. He has molds for several manufacturer's boats and also does
motorized, radio controlled boats. Some of his really custom ones are very
real looking.
