All photos are "manipulated" in some way by the very fact of being
taken in the first place.

Yeah, it is a mess, isn't it? You should have seen it before I dumped
some of the shortcuts! I don't like the big Windoze program box too
much, so whatever I use fairly frequently is out there on the desktop.

I really like the long horizontal program slider on the bottom of the
screen on the Mac boxes and laptops.

Have you ever looked at "Keylaunch"? I don't know if it's compatible with
Vista or not.

Looks "tidy". What is it and does it work with XP?

Apparently Keylaunch has not been updated for Vista. There is version for
Macs. With Keylaunch you hit Scroll Lock, type few characters and you can
open programs, documents, etc. Nothing at all on the desktop.

It's called RocketDock and I believe it does work with XP, although I
haven't tried it on my XP machine.

Looks like you don't believe in desktop folders.
It's a shame to cover up a pretty picture.
Where did you get the calendar. I like it.

Just toggle the desktop icons off.
Here's the desktop display on the little Averatec computer that I use here
on the boat:
