The tragic story of the whaleship Essex and her crew is the real life event that inspired Herman Melville to write his renowned 19th century classic. Just be prepared for the shocking events of the survivors. Great book. "Sea of Glory" is also a good one and I just purchased "Mayflower" which is turning into a real page turner. |
