You forgot the most important one - namely defending the dollar against speculation. That, in my opinion, is the real crime. Defend it exactly how? It isn't backed by silver, gold or oil in a known guaranteed quantity of something of tangible fixed value. Thus, it is open to speculation. Duh - by buying dollars. You know - like over governments do? |
