This myth should get a rest. If you compare apples with apples, ie a Dell with everything that the Macs have, very often you will find that Apple is very competitive, beating Dell even on price, sometimes by a large margin. What Apple typically does not serve is the lowest price segment with corresponding specifications. See eghttp://www.theinquirer.net/en/inquirer/news/2006/08/10/apple-thrashes... l-on-mac-pro-pricinghttp://kurafire.net/log/archive/2006/04/25/debunking-the-price-myth-a... -vs-dell etc Plus: a Mac typically has a longer useful life. Just my experience. HTH Marc -- remove bye and from mercial to get valid e-mail http://www.heusser.com Yes, and this is all relevant to someone who is really playing around, but who wants to use a 4 year old computer in anything more than a very, very, small commercial situation. Even if you ask someone doing commercial Graphic Design on a mac, or someone running advance cad operations on either, which one of them do you think wants to compete with 4 yo equipment ![]() Trust me, I have 9 hammers in my shop so I do understand the need for several seemingly similar tools, but all of the tools we are discussing here are really suited for very different operations, reguardless of how they are marketed.. |
