Water still warm
Boy, the Salmon fishing in the river mouths is going to be late this
year. The water temp is STILL 61 degrees 14 miles out in Erie. Gotta drop a long way (temp, that is) before they start heading in. We didnt even start to see fish on the Piranha until we hit 60+ feet of water. But the old Gal ran like a top, and I'm planning on going out again on Sunday (weather permitting, or should I say WIND permitting on Erie). The Marina Operator says I now have a Carte Blanche to the ramp for the rest of the season....lol. Same here in Lake Ontario. You watch: When the water is right, it'll also be 11 degrees outside, with gale warnings. |

Maybe some of their runs are based on day length, although I've never heard this, and it's probably wrong. |
