How'd you get mixed up in a news group where most people think a boat is made of Tupperware?? Would LOVE the whole story. Got my first Tupperware boat a year ago - probably won't do that again unless it's one of these: http://www.friendshipyachtcompany.com/main_new.html I got mixed up because I have two or three Tupperware boats. But, and I hate to admit this .... my first passion is for an older, wood sailboat. There's something about the total dependence on wind, wood and sale that intrigues me. But, when you have family that *have* to be home by 4 to feed the dogs or whatever ... Eisboch There are some nice traditional-looking sailboats about that aren't too large and can be easily maintained. I think a fiberglass hull is better than wood for a fun boat that won't be traveling to strange waters, but there's no reason the boat can't be trimmed out nicely in poly-coated wood. |
