Is there some technology to help locate divers?

There's a problem with the whole concept. The diver is most likely
already dead when an alarm or beacon is noticed. It doesn't take long
to get into trouble underwater.

pile of $20 bills like you'd hold playing cards.

These are designed for float-away or "separation from party"
crises.... if you have a major malfunction at depth, you are in deep
doo-doo...... even if the whole world knows where you are.....
