Beautiful day, but for the winds. No feeeeshing for me. Harry, According to the National Weather Forecast, it is 5-15 knots in the open part of the bay, with 1 to 2 ft waves. Now I know you have a low transom boat, and you can't go out in 1 to 2 ft. waves, but with all of the creeks and inlets off the the CB, there must be hundreds of places that even you can boat safely. http://weather.noaa.gov/cgi-bin/fmtb.../an/anz531.txt According to http://www.chesapeakebayweather.com/ the weather is North winds, less than 10 mph and lastly it is 10 mph at Annapolis at 10 am http://noaa.chesapeakebay.net/bayweather.aspx Since 5 - 15 knots is probably fairly common for the CB, you might have purchased the wrong boat if you can't use it under those conditions. I know your LT will send the waves crashing into the boat with 1 ft. waves, but you can purchase some really nice boots to keep your feet dry at: http://www.westmarine.com/ I see bass boat fishing in 20 mph winds when it is 30 degrees outside, so I guess it depends upon your skill level. |

I'm cutting you and several others a new deal. You are temporarily out of my bozo bin. Beginning today, if you and the others I have released behave reasonably, I will treat you the same way. But when you post one of your snide little insults, as you have above, I'll simply call you out on it thusly: Here's yet another of the many daily attacks from ______________________, and if you count them up, you will see what he adds here in "boating" content. The __________________, obviously, will be reserved for the name of the insulter. Oh...just as a point of information, Chesapeake Bay is a large body of water and has differing weather patterns depending upon location. Here's mine: Forecast as of 11:28 am EDT on September 23, 2007 Chesapeake Bay From North Beach To Drum Point- Chesapeake Bay From Drum Point To Smith Point- This Afternoon N winds 15 kt. Waves 3 ft. From 7 to 10 AM today, the weather station on the Thomas Point lighthouse was reporting winds between 15 and 22 knots, and gusts to 22 knots. Three foot waves of the kind we have around here do not make for pleasant fishing. Try to be a little more than a GoogleBoater, eh. |

Even on my little lake it is common for wind to pick up and make parts of the lake unpleasant, including some of my favorite spots. If the weather is still nice, I just move to the leeward side of an island and have a wonderful day on the lake. |

We'll be in Chesapeake Bay for most of October and will be strategically well positioned for confirming or denying reports of extreme LT weather. I'll be on close look out for DLTPs (Distressed Low Transom Parkers) and will take pictures of all sightings for review by the group. Yo Ho Ho... :-) Meanwhile today, off the mid New Jersey coast, 120 miles north east of our LT hero, it was like a lake. People were bopping around in the Atlantic Ocean with 13 ft Whalers like it was a walk in the park. If it were still summer, it would have been one of the finest days of the season. Harry, How is this a daily attack? That's easy, you went after his transom. How low (LT) can you go? Harry is very protective of his aft most parts as well he should be. For late September, the weather was absolutely spectacular. ] Today was a georgeous day here also. I didn't get out, but spent half the day at the local golf course. Beautiful weather. Can't wait for the new boat to get here. |

This is the pure definition of narcissism! Unbelievable. |

It was a nice day today, and the wind finally died down this afternoon. I was just down at the marina, emptying out my minnow traps. What do you use for bait? We used to use bread chunks when I was a kid but I'm sure that has been replaced by something more hi tech. |

Waves 3 ft. From 7 to 10 AM today, the weather station on the Thomas Point lighthouse was reporting winds between 15 and 22 knots, and gusts to 22 knots. Three foot waves of the kind we have around here do not make for pleasant fishing. Harry, If the weather in the area you normally fish has 3 ft. waves, why not change your fishing location to the leeward side or a island, peninsula or go to one of the 10,000 coves in the Chesapeake Bay. Even on my little lake it is common for wind to pick up and make parts of the lake unpleasant, including some of my favorite spots. If the weather is still nice, I just move to the leeward side of an island and have a wonderful day on the lake. Here's yet another of the many daily attacks from "Reggie Smithers", a frequent rec.boats poster, and if you count them up, you will see how little he adds here in boating/fishing content or interesting reading. Harry, This is not an attack, it is friendly advice. I have no interest in advice from you. Save yourself the time and what little energy it takes, and don't offer me any. Did you old lady yell at you today, Harry? Why are you attacking Reggie? |

Harry's legendary "bozo bin" must be malfunctioning today... "Oh. I thought it would be obvious, which is why I didn't respond directly. Herring is engaged in his never-ending quest to try to "trash" me as many times a day as possible, and he's trying to enlist others in his cause. He has a couple of other targets, too. Herring denies all of this, of course, and claims he isn't doing anything snarky. It's the same sort of crap in which Reggie Retardo engages. That's one of the reasons why both of them, and a few others, are permanent residents of my bozo bin. They have nothing to offer here, and show up only to try to dump on other posters." 8/30/07 Here's yet another of the many daily attacks from "Dan", a frequent rec.boats poster, and if you count them up, you will see how little he adds here in boating/fishing content or interesting reading. |
