The FICHTS on the original Contender have 2700 hours and are going through their very first rebuild. On my boat, I have a little over 70 hours on this engine, but that was due to extenuating circumstances last summer and this summer - I spent a lot of time traveling here and there and this summer has been pretty much the same. Hopefully, this Fall and early Winter, I will be able to take advantage of some down time and use the boat a little more than I have the past two Falls - which is were I run most of the time anyway. Someone with 1700 hrs would be able to give you great enduser feedback. Like I said - last time I talked to him, he just blew past 1,700 hours and not a hiccup. How much do they charge for a OB rebuild? Depends on what needs to be done. Minimum, probably around $1,200. Max - maybe $4K. |
