....wasn't bad, though the Bay was a lot choppier than predicted. Caught
some spot for bait, caught some blues and trout. Released the blues,
took the trout home to join us for dinner.

Never, ever trust NOAHA weather radio reports on wave heights. ;-)

We are ready to shift from the swimming to fishing mode..........yellow
perch style.

We have some white perch in the rivers that empty into the Bay around
here at times, but no relation to your perch. Ours are cousins of
striped bass. Decent ones are a pound to a pound and a quarter.

Going to get out tomorrow, too, I hope.

How is the new Parker performing?

Well, I don't want to sound like a commercial, but I really am pleased.
I never owned a deep vee 21 footer before, and this one is that, plus it
is fairly heavy (the boat alone is just under 3000 pounds), so it really
rides well. I had two smaller SeaPros and while they were competent
boats, they simply did not weigh enough to bang down the chop.

I like the completely open space in front of the center console. Flat
floor for six feet right up to the bow. Great for fly fishing or
casting, or just setting up a recliner.

Fuel burn is way down there, too, which pleases me.

Got one item for the 20-hour check. The steering in one direction is too
stiff, and I had it checked by the dealer. They ordered a replacement
helm for me, no questions asked.

Shifting winds 40 to 45 kt with gusts to 55 kt near center of
Gabrielle. Seas 8 to 16 ft building to 20 ft or more. Showers and
tstms...mainly W.

Sissy. ;-)

I have been stuck with lighting harness problems on the Blazer for two
days but I haven a temporary setup hooked up for the rest of the
season. Don't know exactly what happened yet, I am tearing through the
harness looking for a short or break somewhere. Anyway, I am going to
take a run ahead of the storm to the mouth of the CT River tonight.
Should actually be a nice night, looks like overcast with light winds,
it'll do.. Been jonesin' for a trip all week, I just can't wait any
longer;) I want biieeeeeeeg fishies !!

Harry would be out there, low transom and all.

He's experienced.

Went out again today, and the predictions of "one to threes" where we
were was pretty much wrong...except for boat wakes, it was "ones" or
less. Beautiful day, water temp 83 to 84F.

I could have sworn you have reprimanded others here with this exact
phrase......"Lead by Example". ;-)

Wayne's trying to earn the respect of the other rec.boats assholes:
herring, reggie, et cetera.

You are off base with that comment Harry. He has normally avoided getting
involved in flame wars.

Both of you need to stop it as both of you have a lot to offer to this NG.

I'm merely commenting on WayneBoy's double standard, the one that says,
"Don't do as I do, do as I say." That puts him in the Herring-Reggie
category.
