Wished we had more time to just kick around. It would have been interesting to go out for an afternoon 'sail'. (would have pried him for first hand insight on the Vietnam action.... always interesting because I was of age then....turned 18 in August 1967) Maybe another time...thanks for you interest in me getting home safely Tom.. appreciated your calls.(I get sleepy on long drives). This reminds me of a little lesson my dad taught me many decades ago. It went something like this: "If you are ever in a bar and there is some guy standing on the table, or talking louder than everyone telling them how he was in the war, killing japs, fighting up hills.... here is what you do. You look for the guy sitting quietly a couple of tables over, tear in his eye, head in his hands... Buy him a drink and walk away, he is the guy that was there." He continued on to leave me with this. "The guys that were really there, don't talk about it". From my point of view, T has never mentioned it, and quite frankly, guys like us probably don't want to know. And yes... Bronson and I plan on getting lots of use from that boat. Even the wife looked it over this morning and said it looks bigger than she thought it would. A dog named Bronson, I love it, sure there is a story there. Hope the three of you get to spend a lot of time muckholeing, if ya'll do it up there. I may be installing that second comfy seat soon. With all due respect, you should consider a third for the wife ![]() |
