The difference between a war story and a fairy tale: War story -- "This ain't no ****, but....." Fairy tale -- "Once upon a time..." Other than that they're pretty much the same. -- John H I think Tom is a little more straightforward than that. I'm betting he'd either say he didn't want to talk about it... or he'd give factual info not embelished or jazzed up in any manner. So, you get that think on the water yet? You find the "present" I left on board??? Say what? See a bunch of funny little dark things I took as rabbit turds. That it? Today I started playing the game of getting the trailer registered. Went down to the Dept of Motor Vehicles only to be told that I have to take the trailer to a Canadian Tire Corp auto service dept and have them do an inspection to make sure your lax 'merican standards comply with our Canadian ones. (thought that was why I needed to make sure the 'compliance' sticker was on the trailer) If the mechanic is happy, he stamps the customs Form 1 paper I received at the border and then I go back to the provincial gov't dept to register. I hope the mechanic can do a safety check at the same time..... otherwise it's back to another mechanic after registration. After that I have to register/license the boat because the motor is over 10 hp As we speak I'm charging the battery up with the small nifty charger. I plan on hitting the water this weekend..... if the weather is good. Might even take it down to the beautiful Bras d'Or Lakes in Cape Breton. Well keep us posted! It sounds and looks like a boat built especially for a man and his dog. What does the wife think of it, now that she's seen it in person? |

(I'll send you a direct e-mail re keys and any manuals you might have kicking around) If I had known it was that long a ride, I would have gone further along Route 9. I'll mail the X-85 manual and keys tomorrow - I'm really sorry about that. I'll mail the engine manual as soon as I find it - the office and two bedrooms are all stored elsewhere while the remodeling is going on. I know what box it's in, it's under other boxes and buried. Glad you made it home in good shape. Or reasonably good shape. Enjoy it - it's a nice ride. :) Oh, and I disabled the bomb Scot placed under the front seat - don't worry about it. :) What a bum. Hey, should I give you a ring this eve? Good temps and skies tomorrow, some wind, you make the call. Um...tomorrow isn't good fo rme. Friday...that sounds like a winner to me. Give me a call anyway and we'll talk about it.- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - 10-4 |

Can't keep a good man down.. eh? |

Told you... she said it looked bigger than she thought it would. Might get her out for a tour of the North West Arm soon....a boaters paradise with 2 big yacht clubs, a marina and a couple of boat clubs. Nice and protected for a small open boat. |

Thanks in advance for the manuals...I love to read them over & over...I always find something new I glossed over the first couple of times. (not to mention when trouble crops up) |

As Tom owned it I am sure you got a good deal on a well maintained boat. ;-) Based on the values up here...(what it would cost for a similar new one or 2nd hand in same condition) it sure is a good deal. I did price them and to get a new Yukon, 25 hp 4 stroke Mercury, and trailer would be about $11,500.00 inc taxes. Add in dealer installed extras, like the wiring, battery, swivel seat, fish finder, Minnkota electric motor, trailer spare tire plus the easy load option...... well..you get the picture. I should have charged you more. :) |
