Hi Everyone-
I'm trying help a friend out figuring out why one of his power units won't retract on his I/O. It seems to be stuck in the up position. I can hear the pump running (both directions) when he hits the switch. We've tried jumping on the unit while hitting the switch at the same time. In fact the other unit was also stuck and we got it working again by this method. When the switch is hit in the up position, it looks like it travels up slightly. I'm thinking either a stuck check valve or cylinder? Does anyone know the best method to diagnose? The boat is a 83 or 84 Wellcraft Nova with twin 350 small blocks. From what I've gathered it has Alpha I outdrives. Any input would be appreciated. |
