Default axle size?

I need to know how big the spindle is on my axle.
(either 1" re 2000 capacity or 1&1/16" re 2500 lb capacity in diameter)
The manufacturer said to check the part numbers on the bearings.
Trouble is, I have buddy bearings for the first time and don't know how to
remove them.
Any ideas?

Thanks...that's it.
Wonder if I'll be able to see the bearing numbers after popping the buddy
bearing out, or will i have to remove the wheel/hub?
Looks like it's time to get my hands dirty!

Sounds silly, but before I work on cars, or axels specifically, I get
all the hand cleaners and such lined up on the workbench (pavement
next to trailer) before I even start the job. I hate having something
come up (gotta pee, phone call..) during a job and have to palm my way
into the house and make a huge mess on the way. Especially doing
bearings, I tear a bunch of paper towels off and have the pile ready
to use as I go along. Have fun, have someone snap pics

Does your mom have cooking facilities where she's staying, Don? Or is it
cafeteria style eating?
