It pushed Commando's Penn-Yan around from 1942 until about 3 or 4 years ago. It still runs, but it finally became too balky to be worth the trouble of clamping it to the dinghy's transom, so we replaced it with an electric motor. The Johnson 1.5hp shown in the above link is a 1968 model which was first introduced that year. In later years it evolved into a 2hp size with a recoil starter. It is not a ducktwin, which was an olive-brown painted twin cylinder 3hp. |
