Default Anchors Aweigh!

The big day is finally here, and our "long" (as long as work permits)
cruise of 2007 somewhat begins tonight. We'll take "Indulgence" out
through the locks to an overnight berth on the sound so we can get an
early start Friday AM.

It requires a lot of effort to get everything set. We have a diabetic
cat, so we have to arrange for live-in house/pet sitters for 2 1/2
weeks. The upside is that the boat has been checked and rechecked,
fluids renewed, batteries topped off, minor stuff repaired and
replaced, in anticipation. One of the perks of my job is that I'm
expected to write articles about various places we visit on the boat-
and that makes the use of the boat tax deductible (up to the amount of
money received for the article). At the same time, however, it means
that I will have to "work" a little everyday.

I may have a few stories to share when we return. If so, I hope none
of them are too dramatic.

Half the fun of a long boat trip is the prep, load in, and last minute
checklists..
