One of the secrets to happiness in life is to know when you are well off. Anytime I am warm, dry and well fed three important things have already gone right that day. And since I'm also on a boat, make that four things. Add in a good internet connection, fine red wine and good company - that makes seven. The wind and rain are whipping today out of the north east. White caps are rolling past and a sailboat has been driven aground on the beach about 200 yards to leeward. We're sitting here anchored nice and peacefully however, 60 thousand pounds and 50 feet of stability, 20 KW generator pumping dehumidified heat, powering internet and satellite TV, everything functioning just fine. Life is good. I love boating. :-) On days like that, I'd rather be doing something more interesting than lazing on a boat. To each his own. |
