There are great risks in smoking cannabis, a new report has revealed A single joint of cannabis raises the risk of schizophrenia by more than 40 per cent, a disturbing study warns. http://tinyurl.com/2763yj Lets all get behind legalization of cannabis - the world needs more schizo's... Oh my God. They have resurected the guys that made the origional Reefermania! Don't beleive everything you read there rogue. Quite possibly, mentally unstable people turn to drugs or alcohol? Now, that would make sense, or add up cause nothing in that article does. Pot does not lead to harder drugs necessarily, but if you are going to do harder drugs you are probably going to start with tobacco, then pot, then harder drugs, it is a matter of availability. Anyway, one joint does not make for a 41% chance of going looney. This article is crap, the study it is based on, crap. I have known thousands of potheads in my life, only two I know went skitzo. One enhanced his pot smoking, with lost of LSD popping, the other a Vietnam Vet who self medicated with not only joints, but thai sticks, and a terrible otc called thorizine. The guy was usually a zombie. Other than that, most of the pot smokers just eventually grew up, quit smoking, and continued on with life. Another note, probably 95% of the pot smokers I have known do not do other drugs, many, not even alcohol. |
