So, me and the son in law got out early this morning. Lots of sunfish,
a nice yellow perch I might have kept in colder season, and some small bass. Perfect day, no wind, lots of sun. The lake water seemed really stirred up which I don't understand as very little water seems to move out of, or around the lake. Might go back out again after we get back from the stables with the kids, gee, it's nice to have a big/small trailer boat Look out thursday on the water though. My oldest and I are going out to sip some Jim Beam and celebrate her first Masters. Yes, I get buzzed on the water, so sue me. I don't get to see her often, she is a busy one. |

Haven't done so for many years now. -- John H So, if you go to a restaurant, you don't have a drink with dinner, then drive home? Or dancing with your wife/bf and had a coctail, only to drive home later. My boat goes 6 mph, weighs less than 300 pounds, and is full of soft, floaty stuff. I go to a lake where there is a 6 mph speed limit, all day. So if you are really concerened with drunk activity, go help MADD, but don't come here cause I said I was going to have a "sip" or whiskey during a 6 hour stay on the water and try to be some kind of internet hero! |

Although I feel awkward agreeing with John...here's what you said.. "Yes, I get buzzed on the water, so sue me" Up here it's illegal to operate a boat under the influence. |

Haven't done so for many years now. -- John H What is it with some people? A man has got to know his limitations and operate within them. For you, it appears that you have concluded that are not capable of operating a boat safely after having ANY adult beverage. Good on you. You know your limitations. Do everyone a favor and quit being all preachy about the matter. Don't try to impose your personal limitations on others. What is right for you may not be right for others. You are indirectly calling me a dumbass because I lead my life differently than you do. In my book, that directly makes you a self centered dumbass. I can have a beer or two every few hours and safely operate my boat. Same with my cars. I wouldn't drink six beers in 15 minutes and run my boat or drive my car. I wouldn't want others to, either. I drink a glass or two of red wine several nights a week. If I don't have a glass of wine, I'll have a beer or a cocktail. I sometimes have a cocktail at a bar, with colleagues after work. In other words, a mild buzz is something I am familiar with and I can handle without issue. Apparently, there are many people who can't. Those that can't, shouldn't. I don't try to make non-drinkers drink. Why do you think it is right to impose your ways on other people? You do what is right for you. Let the rest of us do what is right for us. Different strokes for different folks. Respect for others is a good thing. Imposing your views on others is a bad thing. No matter what the issue. |

No matter what the issue.- - - Show quoted text - Ouch, but I am familiar with John, think he is ok. Anyway, it doesn't really matter cause I know most here have skeletons too. I just choose not to hide them here, unlike others who try to maintain some kind of elevated persona in order to command credibility. Me, I am what I am, never run from it before, won't start now... |
