Default Price check 14' Lowe Jon

Tonight I looked at a 2003 Lowe 1448M Jon boat with an almost brand
new Nissan 9.9 hp 4 stroke with electric start. Also comes with
Evinrude trolling motor, fish finder, folding seats, and a nice
trailer. It has seen little use and is in excellent condition,
currently has a couple of inches of leaves in the bottom. Owner said
he has over $4,800 in to it and is asking $3,700. I'm thinking closer
to $2,500 to $2,800. What do you think?

Thanks

I think most of the money in that rig is in the motor. Check it with a
fine-tooth comb, or have a knowledgeable mechanic do it.

Thanks, he did say the motor was $2,400 and was only in the water a
couple of times. Are used boat prices similar to cars, as soon as you
take them off the lot? How much depreciation?

Go do a quick search on E-B*Y for Lowe. Look at the sales that are
about to end and see what the boats are actually bringing.

Well, consider this.

I have a 14' 2004 Princecraft Yukon (semi-v aluminum), 2004 Johnson
electric start 25 horse (extremely low hours), 40 lb Minn Kota
trolling motor, 2004 Loadrite trailer w/spare/side rails, Lowrance X45
w/speed/temp and battery. I've been offered $4,100 for it as it sits.

Take it for what it's worth, but I'm guessing $3,800 is a touch
overpriced - closer to $3,2/$3,300 is about right assuming everything
is in good shape.

At $2,500/2,800 your asking to steal it. If you can get it for that,
fine, but I doubt seriously if the guy is going to come down to an
offer like that.

If you can get one similar for that price, then do it.
