Milwaukee Bucks basketball player Ruben Patterson, a convicted sex
offender, pleaded not guilty Friday in Hamilton County Municipal Court to
a misdemeanor charge of failing to register his address.

Patterson, a former University of Cincinnati basketball star, is accused
of failing to notify Hamilton County Sheriff's Office he moved to Indian
Hill in November, as he is required by law to do. Since being charged
earlier this month, Patterson has registered, according to the Hamilton
County Sheriff's Office.

Patterson was convicted in May 2001 in King County, Wash., on a
misdemeanor charge of attempted rape, records show. The charge alleges he
attacked a nanny who worked for his family.

Patterson was designated a sexually oriented offender and is required for
10 years to register his address with the sheriff's office in the county
in which he lives.

The failure-to-register charge carries a possible sentence of up to six
months in jail.

Patterson will appear in court June 8.
