Lyman? You said Lyman? Beautiful boats. I grew up where they were built.
Maybe someday I'll have one myself. John "JimH" wrote in message ... wrote in message ps.com... Heck, I even drove the single screw Lyman from the beach to the marina and docked her flawlessly. |

The old Lyman factory is now a restaurant, bar and marina. http://www.lymanharbor.com/history.htm My friend's Lyman is docked at the same slip and same marina (http://www.romps.com) since it was built........with 3 previous owners. We dock near them. |

We dock near them. Yeah, I grew up near Lakeside/Marblehead. Vermillion has grown in number of marinas since I was a kid.I remember when Copper Kettle opened. Parents knew him. He used to launch his boat at the marina we were at then he opened his own. That seemed to get the juices flowing as other marinas started opening in that area. Parents still live in Avon Lake. Me? I'm down here on salt water in Va Beach. Then again weather is nicer down here. John |

I've been off work the past two days in anticipation of a boat trip to the
Keys. Wind is blowing 20-25 knots out of the east, stacking the seas up 7-10 feet. Getting down there isn't a problem, because I can hug the coast line where seas are less than 2'. But who wants to sit on a boat at a dock for 3 days, when your goal is to go fishing? We're leaving tomorrow...and staying through Tuesday instead of Monday. Seas are predicted to be 4-6 feet, which isn't great...but my freezer is bare. "JimH" wrote in message ... .........thunderstorms have hit us, with rain forecast for the next few days. ;-( |

We did this 4 or 5 times last year after he received his boating safety certification (via in class USCG Power Squadron). After this refresher lesson he will be ready to take the boat out on his own...........he earned it after 15 years of watching and learning from me at the helm of our various boats. |

We took the boat out as planned. My son was at the helm the entire time and had a flawless performance. He wants just one more time with me and then he feels he will be ready to be out on his own with his friends. It was a great day on the water today! Time to cook the ribeyes.........yum, yum. |
