"HK" wrote in message ... Best day of the year so far for boating on Chesapeake Bay. Accompanied by wife and my in-laws, we got an early start from Chesapeake Beach, headed up towards the Bay Bridge, came down through Kent Narrows, visited St. Micheals for a while, then went as far up the Miles River as the Route 370 bridge. Wish the rest of the summer would be as temperate as today. Some snaps: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...oating/027.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...oating/033.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...oating/037.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...oating/049.jpg http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...oating/055.jpg Gas was $3.69+, diesel $2.59+ over at St. Michaels. Very light boating traffic on the Bay. Glad to read you had a good day on the shakedown cruise. We are in the water and will be taking ours out (weather cooperating) over the weekend). Gasoline prices at the 2 corner gas stations was at $3.49 as of this morning and predicted to stay there through the summer. This was up from $3.08 just yesterday. $3.49 at the corner gas station is what at marinas in your area? $3.99? Gas at the local corner stations here (Wawa, for example) was $3.07 today, but over on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, the news reported, it was $2.87. This is going to be a terrible year for many boaters. |
