Hey, speaking of gun cleaner, do you have any direct experience with
the folks at Jake's Landing?

Oh, yes. That's where I keep the boat. Archie (who owns/runs the
place) and I have had a couple of "direct" experiences.

What are you looking for?

Well, I'm wondering about how he handles customers. I'm toying with
the idea of keeping the Ranger down there for my son to use and bring
the Princecraft back here for pond jumping. When we were down there
in April, I stopped there and spoke to an older woman about putting
the boat in a slip - she was very nice, but said I would have to talk
to Archie and I've never been able to get in touch with him. She also
suggested that I could keep the boat there on a trailer and use the
launch for small bucks - just wondering if that was a good idea or
not.

It seemed like there were a lot of fishing boats in the marina so it
might be a good place to put the Ranger.

Any thoughts about the general operations of the place?

By the by, we're heading back down in July - we've got to hook up for
a trip around the lake - we'll use my boat. :)

I'll post some info this evening when I have some time.

10-4 on the lake trip... your's is faster, but mine is bigger. :-)

It's called a Power Flounder Gigger. Basically, you drift along the
beach uisng a light at night and when you see the shape of of a
flounder in the sand, you press the button and it gigs the flounder,
brings it up to the surface, the pole rotates and delivers a freshly
gigged flounder.

It can also be used for a trailer jack.

Sometimes it's used to position the boat - you set the pole into the
bottom to hold the boat in position. Handy in a tidal rip or on a
flat to keep you from drifting too close to structure, the beach or
such as that.
Hee hee! Now Tom, you'll get Dan all excited and he'll be at his
marine store demanding one of those rigs.
"Hee hee!"??? WTF? I thought you were an adult.

BTW - I got the joke and the answer.
Yeah...two days later... hee hee!

Some of us work and don't have to dream of buying Highlanders.

I woudn't want to be in your dreams either Freddy..

Where do you come up with that crap? Is that considered to be comedy in
Canada? I guess that explains Howie Mandell and Martin Short. yawn

Sigh! What a nitwit... it was a joke for Tom. I know it's Sunday, but
I'm sure no one would mind if you had another one.

You been imbibing large amounts? Do not judge others lifestyle by your own.
Fact is, just got off the roof, from working on the solar panels and had a
diet Mountain Dew and Chinese baked pork bun and curried a beef pastry.
Purchased Friday in Oakland's China Town at the Delicious Feed Company.
Been buying stuff there for years and never been disappointed.

Don't tease Don about food... he lives in Canada... land of the "Swiss
Chalet" restaurants. Gag... the most bland food you can find on
planet Earth. You need lots of high gravity Canadian beer to stomach
the food they serve up there.

But hey... I just got back from Toronto today from doing a
presentation for a major sale we're hoping to make. Just as long as
they change those loonies into dollars before they cross the border,
we'll take about a million of them.

Flew through DCA on the way back in. It was a perfect situation...
coming in from the north, sitting on the left side of the plane, about
7pm. Beautiful view of the Mall and monuments and surrounding area as
we hugged the river on the way in. The most powerful place on earth.
Awe inspiring... wife and I spent a week up there about 5 years ago
doing the tourist thing, and we're thinking about going back again
next year. Have to do the CA wine country tour again this year.

Bonjour.

Be sure and visit the new Air and Space Museum out by Dulles airport. It's
great.
