Boat buyers are great!! :) Proving that the first jerk who offered you a fraction of its value was the major loser. May be seller's karma- but just after you decided that you didn't really care if you sold it at all and thought you might keep it you wound up getting your full asking price. In any negotiation, the party that prevails will be the one *least* emotionally involved. So you're going to replace this with?.... At this point nothing because I've got to have my hip replaced this fall, so no sail boats until after that gets done. At that point, we'll see - maybe something like Don's Sandpiper or just a simple easy to use, throw it in the water type of boat like a Laser or Zuma. Actually, I'm thinking of buying another Contender and just get the whole damn fleet down to one. Trailerable of course. This time, no bunks - rollers. Good plan .. A Sandpiper 565 or a Catalina 18 are a great size for day sails and occasional weekenders. Just big enough to have a place to sleep and a pump out head if you plan on taking the wife along. You can always go ashore and stay a night at a hotel on occasion. If you planned on sailing singlehanded on fine afternoons in protected waters, a smaller open boat might do the trick. example CL16, Hunter 17 etc. Older guys like us may not appreciate those flat lasers for more than a few hours at a time. |

Flying Scot http://www.flyingscot.com/ Great little sailboat, especially for a klutz like Tom, who still has not figured out he wants to buy my Parker. Three words. Yam, A, Ha Eisboch |

Another good choice... although I wonder if it's more of a 'performance boat'. |

Didn't use his little honda 2hp once. http://www.wayfarer-canada.org/Cruis...ogs.index.html scroll down to Robert Dunbar's log under the 'Maritimes' heading. The Wayfarer people were kind enough to let him post his log there. |

Down home we got the frostbite yacht club racing all winter in these things. Looks like a fun little boat, if I get a little sailboat set up this season, I will let you know, glad to let you borrow a little one some weekend. |

Well, after m uch consideration and presenting an offer that I thought was more than fair for that over priced floating box-on-a-hull Parker (My Ranger with the FICHT straight up for your Parker - you keep the Yamaha), I have reconsidered. There is no way in hell I would buy a wannabe Steiger clone. :) |

He has one of these in a slip beside Mrs.E's GB and I checked it out ... it's something I think you would like. The one here has the engine mounted on a jackplate. Impressive engine too. 275 horses, supercharged and very quiet. He told me I can try it out whenever I get the itch. Not my kind of boat though. http://www.yellowfinyachts.com/24_bay_boat.htm Eisboch |
