Default Calculate your indulgence.

No boats included in this unfortunately.

But at least you will know what your land based carbon footprint is
and how much it will cost you to offset it.

Interesting that they don't include diesel pickups or cars in this.

Why yes - yes it did.

I blame it on the drugs. :)

I was fine on in the car section. Slightly below average.
No problem at all on the flight section since I haven't flown anywhere in
about 3 years.

The house section blew it all to smithereens though. Guess I'll have to
make out a check, payable to AGORE.

How many furnaces and AC units does that monster house have?

Just one furnace with 12 zones. Three large A/C units plus a smaller, ton
and a half unit for the barn garage. I put that in to control humidity more
than to cool it.

Surprisingly, it's really not bad expense-wise to heat or cool considering
the square footage unless you have an unusually cold or hot month. The
house is very well insulated.

The meter starts to spin when we start using the pool heater though. It's
also electric and is rated at something like 140,000 BTU/hr. We'll back it
off a bit this year, I think.

Careful! Sounds like Jimmie's looking for info to begin another rant about
your possessions!

There is a big problem with this test seeing as how it doesn't take
into account where you live. In CA energy bills are much higher, even
if personal usage is lower we get charged more for everything so if I
pay $30 a month on electricity then I am using less energy than
someone in the midwest who also pays $30. Not to mention I pa even if
I don't use any electricity for the connection fee. That's not fair
questioning. I feel cheated. This calculator needs to be shot.

Now, that site says it all:

"When the carbon you take out of the atmosphere is equal to the amount you
put in, you are carbon-neutral. If everyone were carbon-neutral, we
wouldn’t have to worry about global warming."

There's the proof, folks. Any global warming to be worried about is caused
by man. Amen. That's it.

However, for a mere $200 I can offset *all* of mine, except farts of
course. The question is, what does the $200 actually buy? I couldn't find
that anywhere.

Help!
