Default Cool equipment

Saw one of these used yesterday:

http://www.lasersquare.com/lt55.asp

Laser templator

Videos on site.

Used for my countertops, but obviously has other applications, as do the
company's other products, even for...heaven help us...boats.

Never seen a laser templator in action before. Especially useful, the
tech said, for granite. The output goes to a CNC cutter.

They are pretty cool .... and there's a boating connection.
We did the kitchen of our house in Florida over with granite and they used a
laser templator.
It creates a 3-D measurement "image" of the countertop areas, splashguard
requirements, and the sink cutout requirements. The 3D data is then
programmed into the cutter. All the pieces fit perfectly.

Boating connection? A similar laser device is used by many prop shops to
"profile" a prop for refurbishing, balancing or adjusting the pitch and cup
of the blades.
