My potential buyer called again this morning - wanted to make sure that I "understood" his offer. Get this - he felt that based on his "surveyor's" report that perhaps he made an inappropriate offer. He went into this long explanation of the why's and how's then said this: "I don't want the engine as it's very old. Based on your asking price, my "surveyor's" report and the cost of a new four stroke Honda long leg which will cost me at least $3,000, I'll up my offer to $1,000." Basically, he wants me to buy his new engine for him. I told him never to call me again. :) Ever. Tom, On Monday, I am heading up to NYC for my son's graduation from Columbia. I am then helping him move to Cambridge, MA. I am willing to end your pain of dealing with all these low life blood suckers by taking your boat off your hands. Of course I do expect to be compensated for my efforts, but I am sure we can work out something fair. I was thinking $500 in a certified check would be reasonable. Please make the check out to R.J. Smithers III. ps - Did I tell you he is graduating with honors and was awarded a scholarship from Columbia to be used for his post graduate work at the school of his choice? Don't you hate parents who bore people with their children's succuss stories? |
