How many responses have you gotten? Was this the only guy who spent any time
at all discussing it?

About ten, but most are time wasters and wanting a deal right off the
bat. This was the first actual looker.

A *good* looker?

Next time it happens, just quickly crank up the computer and tell us about
it. We'll commiserate, tell jokes, and make you feel great in no time.

You gotta love Karma.

I think you should be patient, but make the process as painless as possible.
When I sold my Taurus, I had an accurate list of essential repairs it
needed, with prices from my mechanic. He'd also provided suggested time
frames for the repairs. The ad said it needed work. When people called, I
told them I wanted to make them aware of these things immediately, and
offered to mail/fax/e-mail the list. This shut down probably 8 of the 10
inquiries, especially since one of the items was the AC compressor, an
expensive item. So, I didn't have to waste much time on the phone. I finally
got a call from a woman who said her boyfriend liked working on cars. He
came with her to see the car, and spent a couple of hours looking it over.
They stopped back the next day with a check from her bank, and the car was
gone that day.
