I think we'll go today! My son says it is too rough, but I think he's
just being a sissy......

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Friday and Saturday were beautiful days down on the boat. I am still on it
today, but it's cold, overcast with occasional downpours and the wind is
blowing pretty hard. Glad the heat works.

Here it is warm, but really windy. Most of the guys who went out for
rockcod or salmon were chased off the water by the winds.

Heading out in a hour or so to test a boat.

Should be fun - repowered 23' Hydrasports CC - bolstered stern with
twin 250 Verados. A lot of work done on this boat - came from
Mississippi after Katrina.

Haven't really wrung out a pair of Verados yet - should be fun. It
will be interesting to see how they compare to ETECs.

I'm going into this with an "open" mind.

Hope you had a good time. Ours is sitting in my drive with the
winter cover
off and the batteries charging. Will take it to the marina
tomorrow to
start working on it.

Used our Fuel Perks points (30 gallons max) and filled up my wife's
Highlander (16 gallons), put 10 gallons in the boat topping it off
and the
remaining 4 gallons in a gas can. All for the price of a little
over $5.

http://www.gianteagle.com/main/artic...der_id=1127873

I paid $2.87 a gallon earlier today in Waldorf, MD, at a WaWa. As the
meter ran, I genuflected in the direction of Dicque Cheney.
Do you think the price of gas would fall if the Democrats took power?
That
would sure make boating much cheaper!
The Democrats already took control of Congress on January 4th.

Average price of regular grade gas on January 8th: $2.258

Average price of regular grade gas on April 30th: $2.922

That's a nice 29.4% increase...in just under 4 months. Even Cheney's
gas-manipulation powers can't compare to that of the evil Demoncrats.
The Democratic Congress did not establish a secret energy policy with
the nation's drillers, importers, refiners, et cetera. Dick Cheney,
acting on behalf of the oil interests, did.
How do you know the Democrats in Congress did not establish a secret
energy policy with big oil to increase the price of oil?

How do you know they both didn't?

Makes sense - the oil companies got what they wanted and the enviros
(aka Democrats) got what they wanted. Eventually, oil use has to drop
becaues of price.

The real problem is the trading pits. The information flow is now
instant - somebody sneezes in Nigeria or Saudi Arabia and five seconds
later, it's headline news. There isn't enough time to adjust - you
have to instantly react to the news and "do something".

The real problem is that the White House has no compunction about
allowing Big Oil to perpetrate and perpetuate as big a ripoff of the
consumers as possible. President Idiot just doesn't give a damn.
Remember, he's the same guy who thinks it is a great idea to export as
many US manufacturing jobs as possible, and to allow in as many illegals
as possible, in order to drive down the wages of US workers.

I don't recall any bills introduced by the Democrat controlled Congress
which would change anything, Harry.

They introduced a pot full of other ridiculous bills, but none attempting
to stop the 'ripoff'. Just think how much more enjoyable boating would be
if they *did* something!

Butler prams in weather like that.

Just wear a windbreaker jacket and put your ballcap on backwards.

"Hurricane force wind warning
N wall of Gulf Stream near 33.3n 76.7w...33.7n 76.6w...35n 75.3w"

Hell - no jacket.

Real men don't wear jackets in weather like that.

Pansies...

You mean with the visor in the front!, no way maaaaannn ;)

Backwards ball caps drive me nuts - I can't explain it.

And those kids who wear the brims flat as a pancake.

Damn kids...

Anyway, it's a full brim for me.

I generally wear drover's hats with a full brim, but working around
the house, it's a ball cap for me.
