Dad wants to "go home" one last time before he dies so we are taking a driving trip up the coast to your neighborhood this summer. Thinking about bringing a small trailer boat with us for some fresh water fishing, any idea where I can get regulations and info on what kind of licence I may need, will my US, Connecticut licene do, or can I drive it at all up there? Anyway, I have never been up there, can't wait. What part of Nova Scotis is your dad from? I don't see a date on this...but should be close re fishing license..http://sportfishing.mynovascotia.net...asp#freshwater Just talked to dad and he says the family is from Digby area, going back to the early 1600's. Mom and dad used to spend many summers up there doing geneology, scouring the graveyards and afternoons at a little place "on the main drag" right on the water eating scallops that would "melt in your mouth". I am actually pretty excited about the trip. Dad is 90 and we get on pretty well. He was very excited when I told him I was talking to someone up there. I don't know much about the place, never been there but I am sure we will have a great time. Do you need a licence to pilot a small trailer sailor up there? If it is like British Columbia, tourists are exempt from the boating certificate for some period. Fishing licence will be available from lots of tackle shops. Do a google on fishing licence fees for N.S. http://sportfishing.mynovascotia.net/species.asp |
