For $25 you can get a tree planted in Harry's name by the Chesapeake Bay.
Now *that* is worthwhile carbon offsettlement!

If you get enough participants will it be named the "Harry Krause Rec.Boats

If enough of youse guys want to send me $25 each, I'll buy a magnolia
grandiflora, plant it in the front yard, take a photo, and post it so
you can all see what you bought. Since I live right by Chesapeake Bay,
you can deal direct with me, avoid the middle man, and help prevent the

Yeah but...you would be 'cheating' poor John out of his 80% cut of all

Fund raising is quite the profitable enterprise. If I was smart, instead of

It's one thing to gently promote a charity, and it's quite another to
bring it up over and over and over and over.

During the holiday season, I suggest folks make a contribution to the
Salvation Army or something similar. I might mention that once or twice

Herring is obnoxious about his fund-raising.

Then you have folks like Al Gore buying credits from companies he has

money". It is really immoral, as well as a scam.

Out of sight, out of mind.

He is, but unfortunately other posters here on occasion will comment on
what he drools into this newsgroup, and I see albeit indirectly one of
his inanities.

That was pretty good, Harry! Quite original! You are the man.

Next year, if my daughter is still able and willing to run, I'll again ask
for a donation. Several of you will do so, and I'll appreciate every one,
as will my daughter.

If that is too much for you, Donnie, Jimmy, and Harry, to bear, than
killfile me. Oh, I forgot, I'm already killfiled.

Chuckle....

I'm sure no one would object to a post informing of a worthy cause and a
request for a donation... it's the repeated harassing of individuals by name
in an attempt to embarass them to 'pony up'. To make matters worse, other
instigators then use this as an opportunity to attack fellow posters.
How about.. 'one cause...one request'?

Yep. But I doubt he will show that type of class.

Hey Donnie. I've not made one comment to anyone by name in an attempt to
embarrass anyone.

Now, don't you feel a little embarrassed?

If any of your sons or daughters get cancer, and you want a donation, I'll
be the first to match whatever you want to donate.

And your donation was much appreciated also, Jim. Next year, if you desire
not to donate, then I'll make the same donation in your name.

Nope. Two causes...breast cancer and the Chesapeake Bay. In fact, I'll have
trees planted in your name and Donnie's name.

If enough of youse guys want to send me $25 each, I'll buy a magnolia
grandiflora, plant it in the front yard, take a photo, and post it so you
can all see what you bought. Since I live right by Chesapeake Bay, you
can deal direct with me, avoid the middle man, and help prevent the next
Herring fundraising scam.

No credit, carbon or otherwise. Cash only. American.

Yeah but...you *would be 'cheating'* poor John out of *his 80% cut* of all
monies raised.
Fund raising is quite the profitable enterprise. If I was smart, instead
of razzing John, I'd be asking his advice on how I can get in on this
sweet deal.

ooops better do a correction before John sets his lawyers on me.......
above should say *could possibly be cheating* and *potential 80% cut*

Why the need for the correction? Talking out of your ass again, Don?

It was only a matter of time.

And it will get worse.
Al Gore won't like you for exposing this sort of thing. Watch CNN
Headline
News on May 2nd at 7:00 pm.

For $25 you can get a tree planted in Harry's name by the
Chesapeake Bay.
Now *that* is worthwhile carbon offsettlement!
If you get enough participants will it be named the "Harry Krause
Rec.Boats Forest?"
The Harry Krause Carbon Credit National Forest for Homeless Indigent
Critters. :)

I'd take Euros - worth more. :)

And you can spend them on eBay!

BTW, my kitchenette cabinets are supposed to be delivered tomorrow. I
expect to see all of you with your hand tools sometime next week. I've
got my supervisor's hardhat all polished.

Good for you! Go hire some union slugs to install your imaginary cabinets.

That's not fair and you know it.

Lay off the charity thing - you are a much better person than that.

It's a low blow...but...
what if every poster in here continually came in harassing individuals by
name asking for donations to two or three of their favourite charities?
We all have one or two worthy causes that are special to us individually.

Harassing? There must be a different definition of that word north of
the border.

That would work if you didn't bitch about the first - and only - request.
