If enough of youse guys want to send me $25 each, I'll buy a magnolia grandiflora, plant it in the front yard, take a photo, and post it so you can all see what you bought. Since I live right by Chesapeake Bay, you can deal direct with me, avoid the middle man, and help prevent the next Herring fundraising scam. No credit, carbon or otherwise. Cash only. American. Yeah but...you would be 'cheating' poor John out of his 80% cut of all monies raised. Fund raising is quite the profitable enterprise. If I was smart, instead of razzing John, I'd be asking his advice on how I can get in on this sweet deal. That's not fair and you know it. Lay off the charity thing - you are a much better person than that. |

Al Gore won't like you for exposing this sort of thing. Watch CNN Headline News on May 2nd at 7:00 pm. For $25 you can get a tree planted in Harry's name by the Chesapeake Bay. Now *that* is worthwhile carbon offsettlement! If you get enough participants will it be named the "Harry Krause Rec.Boats Forest?" The Harry Krause Carbon Credit National Forest for Homeless Indigent Critters. :) If enough of youse guys want to send me $25 each, I'll buy a magnolia grandiflora, plant it in the front yard, take a photo, and post it so you can all see what you bought. It's a low blow...but... what if every poster in here continually came in harassing individuals by name asking for donations to two or three of their favourite charities? We all have one or two worthy causes that are special to us individually. |

During the holiday season, I suggest folks make a contribution to the Salvation Army or something similar. I might mention that once or twice here, not several times in every post every day... Herring is obnoxious about his fund-raising. |

Carbon credits are kind of like selling a kidney in my opinion. Basically what these folks are saying is: "Since you can't afford to live a decent lifestyle anyway, we will buy some of your lifestyle from you and then you will at least have some feel good money". It is really immoral, as well as a scam. |

It's not the way I would approach it, but I'm not going to beat him up for it - it's an issue close to him and that should be sufficient reason. |
