One of the best investments we made was to "buy" the slips rather than rent them every year. We still pay a small marina maintenance fee, but the market value of the slips has doubled in 5 years. An asset doubling in value in five years represents a 14.87% annualized internal rate of return over the holding period. Not bad, but I'd venture a guess that it's probably not one of the best investments you've made. |
