Default Honda 5 hp change water pump

Hello, just bought a used honda 5hp from ebay and starts up fine, just no
water stream from rear of engine showing. No manual yet, but if someone
could explain relatively short how to change out water pump from lower unit
it would be appreciated. I took out the 2 lower bolts and separated the unit
but it seemed attached and only able to separate it 2-3 inches. My goal is
to pick up a manual this week, but would appreciate feedback.

IMHO Buy a service manual and do it properly. On a Mercury it is
difficult if you have never done it to get the shift shaft aligned.

Thanks for your input, Like I mentioned I have all intent on purchasing a
manual. Just thought some real hands on feedback for a "Honda" would of been
nice. Pete

Default Honda 5 hp change water pump

Just replaced this water pump today. Works Great. Had to replace the
housing as it had some damage from impeller. 2 bolts remove the lower case,
single bolt removes the shift rod and slides right out. Noted direction of
impeller and replaced it with a water pump service kit. Used soap to
lubricate impeller and bolted it back together. Had a nice stream afterwards.
Piece of Cake. Love this honda motor!
