Newsgroup poll #2
I don't have a name, but I have a slogan:
What can Brown do for you? (Make sure you get a good patent attorney) ;-) "Don White" wrote in message ... "Dave Brown" wrote in message news:OoKdnRnt64u1FLjbnZ2dnUVZ_oqmnZ2d@wtccommunica tions.ca... 8 years ago I asked the rec.boats newsgroup to help name my retail store outlet and I picked "Buoys & Toys" which I thought was a pretty cool play on words at the time. In reality most people don't get it or don't know what we actually sell (some even think it's a gay Adult Novelty store lol) I am once again turning to my friends (old and new) in this newsgroup to help me rename the store to something that is unique and descriptive, that also reflects the stock change from strictly marine to marine supplies, Liquor, beer, and convenience items (milk, bread butter etc) Let's have some fun with this and see if we can't pull a rabbit out of a hat in the process. Any names you've seen at other marinas you thought worked well too? If I don't get something catchy soon, I'm gonna have to go with "General Store" as a cop out this time around. I'll save someone the first easy one - I'm not naming it Booze n Boats. :-) The floor is yours.... -- Regards, Dave Brown Brown's Marina Ltd http://brownsmarina.com/ 'Brown's Boating Emporium' |

Any names you've seen at other marinas you thought worked well too? I should have told you guys/gals this is for the store only. We have a separate marina building on the water for service, and a separate sales location on the highway 7 miles away for boat/motor sales. In other words, no need to include 'boats' in the description. The name is for the store only and the "Brown's Marina" part will be listed on the sign above the name I eventually choose. Here's a more detailed list of items being sold: Pop, mixes (clamato, OJ etc), chips, chocolate bars, cigars, cigarettes Milk, bread, eggs, bacon, etc Fishing tackle & worms Marine supplies (life jackets, fenders, ropes, safety equipment etc) Liquor, wine, beer T-shirts/souvenirs Water toys (skis, inflated towables, wakeboards, kneeboards etc) Many thanks to those who have contributed already, I hope this new list helps the focus a bit. I've already gotten my money's worth on some of the humour already. ;-) I'm hoping that elusive really catchy name is out there somewhere and would consider a prize to the one who nails it for me. :-) -- Regards, Dave Brown Brown's Marina Ltd http://brownsmarina.com/ |

Then came the clamato. Clamato indeed. :) |
