Hmmmm - a little suspicious.

Great price, but it has some problems. I sold a 1995 19' Reinell bowrider
last year for $7800, but it was in pristine condition. My guess is that
there are probably some outdrive/engine problems hiding there as well.

At the end of the day, if he spends 3-4k for repairs to make it a solid
boat, he's still in good shape.

Damaged as in a bump/blister looking thing? It will probably require
some sort of repair - water could have gotten into the fiberglass - you
will probably have to sound it out for water by giving it the thump
test. Gelcoating isn't hard, but if you haven't done it before, it can
be problematic as it requires some specific setup parameters like temp,
humidity, stuff like that.

As to the floor, that can also be a problem as the wood is probably
soft - that's a winter's project if it isn't too bad to use this
summer.

If you are having these kinds of problems, you might want to check
the transom, outdrive seals (if it's an i/o) or if an outboard, check
to see if there is a lot of movement on the transom when the outboard
is moved up and down.
