Thanks! RS What size and type of used boat are you looking for? Small to modest sized used boats for sale in your area can be found at http://indianapolis.craigslist.org/boa/ this is a good start, thanks! fyi: I want a 17-20' runabout or cuddy for under 10k, preferably under 5k but for the right boat, I'd step up. living in central Indiana, i am realistic about how often i will use it... maybe 6-10 times a year. I work most Saturdays & the nearest lake is Freeman/ Schafer both small dirty & small , 1/2 hour away. Raccoon is about twice as far & also pretty small but at least clean. :-) thanks for all the replies I bought both my boats on Ebay. (in the fall when the market is slumped) And have been very satisfied with my purchases. Also one thing about Ebay, is that you can type in your zip code, and "distance nearest first" and target boats closest to you. It worked for me... |

Eisboch Why would anyone need a boat in Derby, Kansas? P.S. Drove an F350 diesel yesterday. Long bed. Won't fit in my garage, would have to live in the old barn. I could cut a few feet off the bed, I suppose... |

Why do you want/need a big, diesel truck anyway? I bought mine because it was the only SRW truck that could tow what I wanted to tow at the time. (Don't like "dualies"). Now that I don't need to tow anything that heavy I am seriously thinking of replacing it ... if I can find something I like. Eisboch |

A friend of mine has one he uses to haul around his motorcycle trailer. He's got a covered walk-in trailer that holds his three motorcycles, tools, and a pretty complete mini machine shop. He came over last night with the truck, sans trailer, and I borrowed it for a quick ride. Do you haul Mrs. E's horsies around? If not, maybe you don't need a truck at all. |

It is very rare that we trailer the horses although the horse trailer is very handy for making runs to Lowes or occasionally trailering a motorcycle or something. Mrs. E. has one of those Lincoln Mark something pickups .... basically a dolled up Ford F-150 that could tow the horse trailer. The only other thing I occasionally tow is the car trailer with something on it, but the Lincoln could handle that as well ... for relatively short distances anyway. If I were to make another hauling trip like the one I did to Denver, I'd much prefer the F-350, but it's unlikely a trip like that will come up again. Eisboch |

If you're not looking for anything flashy and just want to get on the water at minimal cost, I have a 1977 Thunderbird S-18 that might suit you. The whole long story is he http://users.adelphia.net/~blizzard3/boat/index.htm (Skip down to the last installment if you want to know why I'm thinking of selling.) |
