I do not recall the specific lighthouse or location but I remember reading
about one a couple of years ago that was physically moved 200 yards or so
away from the water due to beach erosion threatening it's foundation.


Here's one in the Long Island Sound that has a similar issue, which is
fortunately being addressed.

Lighthouses usually have wonderful histories. There were two I remember
in New Haven, the old tower lighthouse on the shoreline, built in the
mid 1800s, and one built on an artificial reef in the late 1800s. It
replaced the earlier one, but the old lighthouse was maintained as a
park and exhibit.
