I just bought a 1978 14' starcraft seafarer in excellent condition.
I'm looking to buy an minn kota electric trolling motor for it. I don't want to undersize the motor, thinking about the vector 55. I'll be doing mostly small lake fishing where electric motors are only allowed. Any opinions? Is my boat considered a deep or modified V hull? |

Just got a e-mail back from MinnKota, they recommend 2 pounds of thrust per 100 pds. weight. Say 1,000 lbs. boat (loaded) 20 lb. thrust motor?? Am I wasting my money by upgrading to 55 lbs. of thrust? |
