At least yours dusted the house. When my car was vandalized right in my
driveway, I showed the cop a part of the radio mounting kit which could
only be removed by grabbing it in a way that guaranteed good contact for
fingerprints. He said "Wouldn't be much point in checking for prints
unless the thief had a prior arrest". And.....?

That's something like what the young cop said to me. he said since my van
had a textured steering wheel it wouldn't likely yield worthwhile prints.
Guess we're too hooked on NCIS, CIS Miami etc.
Cop said he could get the Ident Unit up, but I remembered a newspaper story
of them taking 3 or 4 days to show up for a house break-in.
We have a little drug gang style war going on.. with shootings, arson, the
odd killing etc.

I wish.....
the rule of thumb here is, the criminal's rights are paramount. They are
poor under priviliged youths who just need a gentle guiding/helping hand.

Ah....your draconian gun control measures have been a big help. :-)

Yeah. Try giving them a guiding hand. Have a lawyer ready.

One Halloween, when I was probably 10 or 11, my dad opened the front door
and found two kids with their arms all wound up, ready to throw eggs INTO
the house. He moved faster than I've ever seen him move, grabbed them both,
slammed them face down onto the porch, got their phone numbers (which they
were pleased to provide), and had my mother call their parents. This
would've been 1965-ish, maybe. Plenty of apologies from the parents, and not
a word about the bleeding cuts on the kids' faces. Not a peep.

Try that now. Ha.

Speaking of theft, what do you think would be appropriate punishment
for the guy that smacked the 100+ year old lady, fractured her cheek
bone and robbed her of 33 bucks?

I understand they have a massive manhunt, including many vigilantes, on
the search for him.

We still have 'stocks' down at Historic Properties. That might be a nice
place for the old lady basher to pass a couple days & nights.

Nice! You have a way of handling children of all ages who misbehave in
restaurants! Do the stocks get used often?

Not anymore... since the Brits took their Imperial Army and left in 1906
dicipline has gone to s*it!

It keeps honest sensible citizens like me from owning a hand gun.. or even
having quick access to my shotgun or 22 cal rifle.
Doesn't seem to affect the criminal element at all.... not when guns are so
readily available just south of the border.

Find an abandoned shed, nail his dick and balls to the floor, hand him
a dull knife and set the shed on fire.

:-) You have a future in B movies!

I was thinking more along the lines of Creative Excutioner.

I would be willing to bet you that guns are just as readily available
in Canadanandanada as in the US.
